What is a Bounty Hunter?
People know of bounty hunters from TV shows and movies. What they don’t know is the main goal of a bounty hunter is to help out with their communities while supplying the bail bondsman with an essential service. A bail bondsman will bail a defendant out of jail and will work with the defendant to ensure they show up for their court date. If they do not, and they do not work with the bail bondsman to resolve the issue, the bail bondsman will ask bounty hunter to assist with returning the defendant to the jail’s custody. While a bail bondsman puts their own funds up to get the defendant out of jail, the bounty hunter helps keep those funds secure and returns the defendant to jail if needed. Double G Bail Enforcement seeks out defendants who did not show up for their court date and did not work with Double G Bail Bondsmen to resolve the issue. In most instances the bounty hunter will also work with the cosigner to locate and return the defendant because the cosigner is also on the hook for the bail and the amount of money that was used for that bail. Double G Bail Enforcement also works with out-of-state bail bondsmen to recover their skips that may have located to Virginia and will assist in returning them to their proper detention center.
